Acacia Properties is a Charlotte-based commercial real estate firm specializing in the brokerage and development of retail properties across the Carolinas and Southeast.
We tailor every engagement to the client's strategy — from scoping to deal structure. We view every transaction as a long-term partnership with shared goals and aligned interests.
Acacia Properties is a Charlotte-based commercial real estate firm built around a single asset class: retail. We work with national brands, regional operators, developers, and investors across the Carolinas and Southeast — advising on everything from site selection and ground leases to investment sales and shopping center repositioning.
We work with a wide range of clients — from national developers and large corporate retailers to regional franchisee operators and smaller-scale investors. Every engagement, from scope of work to deal structure, is customized to meet the client's needs and strategy.
We view every engagement as a long-term partnership. We don't optimize for transaction volume — we optimize for client outcomes. That philosophy is why the majority of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals.
The name has roots in three places. Ross grew up on Acacia Drive in Wilmington, NC — the street that shaped his formative years before he moved to Charlotte. The acacia tree itself is one of the most resilient in the natural world, known for deep roots and the ability to thrive where others struggle. And in biblical history, acacia wood was used to build the Ark of the Covenant — a symbol of endurance, craftsmanship, and purpose. All three felt right for a firm built to help retailers and investors put down roots in new markets.
Ross Robison is the President & Founder of Acacia Properties, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. A native of Wilmington, NC, Ross holds a BS from the Cameron School of Business at UNC-Wilmington — where he also competed as a Division I golfer on the men's golf team — and a Master's in Accounting from North Carolina State University.
Ross began his career at Deloitte Consulting, focused on Regulatory & Operational Risk for major financial institutions. He later joined Berkeley Capital Advisors, specializing in underwriting and selling retail shopping centers and malls across the Southeast — completing transactions exceeding $100M and underwriting more than $400M in income-producing assets.
Most recently, Ross served as Senior Investment Advisor at MECA Commercial, running the firm's National Sales and Leasing initiative — advising national retailers through site selection, acquisition, permitting, development, and sale-leaseback strategies.
Ross founded Acacia Properties in October 2025 with the goal of creating a boutique, full-service brokerage and development firm focused on retail properties throughout the Carolinas and Southeast.
Outside of work, Ross and his wife Cameron call Charlotte home, where they live with their golden retriever, Bandon. When he's not working, you'll find him on the golf course, along the Carolina coast, or spending time with his four nieces and nephews.
“I chose retail because I found a passion within it, and I enjoy seeing brands that people consume every day come to life in our communities.”
Acacia Properties is building something from the ground up — a boutique, retail-focused firm that moves fast, thinks creatively, and puts clients first.
Whether you're a national brand entering the Carolinas, a developer seeking the right tenant, or an investor buying or selling net lease retail — we bring specialist knowledge and real transactional depth to every engagement.
National QSR brands, regional chains, franchisee operators, and local concepts looking to enter or expand within the Carolinas. We know the markets, the available sites, and how to get a deal done on your terms.
Ground-up developers, pad site owners, and shopping center operators looking to attract the right retail tenants. We match sites to concepts and structure the deal — ground lease, build-to-suit, or inline.
Private investors, family offices, and 1031 exchange buyers seeking net lease retail in the Southeast. We source the deals, underwrite the numbers, and manage the transaction from letter of intent to closing.
